Paris

Arrive in Paris, the city of lights. Spend two fun-filled days discovering this dynamic and
fashionable city. Take walks through Paris. Start at the
Eiffel Tower, the most visited
site in the world and the symbol of France. Then on to the
Arc de Triomphe one of the
landmarks of Napoleon's imperial capital which offers an admirable perspective of Paris
and the twelve avenues converging in a star shape. Walk along the
Champs-Elysées
Boulevard and see how Parisians relax and enjoy a beautiful morning on its many sidewalk
cafes. Visit the
Notre Dame Cathedral. If Paris has a heart, then this is it. Notre Dame
de Paris is not only a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture, but has also been
Catholic Paris' ceremonial focus for seven centuries. Take the Metro to the hills of

Montmartre
to visit the Place du Tertre with artists hard at work and the majestic Sacré
Coeur Basilica. And take a guided tour of the
Louvre Museum, which houses nearly
300,000 works of art including the famous Mona Lisa.

Family Stay Accommodation and Meals

The home stay will be at the heart of Provence, In Aix en Provence, a city in the
Southern France, famous for its hot springs, fountains, and southern hospitality
Your chosen host families will be your source for discovering life in France. You will
become more familiar with culture, cuisine and French language. Spend one half day in the
local school. All meals will be arranged by your host families.

Nîmes

Say "Merci" and "Au Revoir" to your gracious host families and leave Aix en Provence for
Nîmes , the city that possesses some of the best-preserved Roman architecture in the
world, the capital of the Gard Department with history that goes back to the Roman Empire.
Visit
Les Baux de Provence high on a windswept plateau overlooking the southern
Alpilles. Visit a glass blowing factory and learn about this ancient art.

In the afternoon visit the
Beaucaire Medieval Castle, where you will watch a gladiator
show, have Roman and Medieval workshops, and do a tasting of Roman foods.

Avignon

Continue your trip to Avignon, the town that was the capital of Christendom in the 14th
century - the popes lived here during what the Romans called the Babylonian Captivity.
Visit the Palais des Papes, headquarters of a group of cardinals who came close to
toppling the authority of the popes in Rome, and the famous Pont d'Avignon. In the evening
take the bullet train, TGV, to Paris.

Paris
Spend the last day of your trip in Paris. Take the RER to visit the Palace of Versailles,
which was built by Louis XIV, the Sun King. Tour the Queen's Bedroom just as
Marie-Antoinette left it in 1789. Visit the newly reopened Hall of Mirrors and the manicured
French Style gardens which were designed by Le Notre. As your last evening treat, take a
ride on the
Bateaux-Mouche and see the beautiful Paris lights.
